Team Meeting
On February 6th, our group met with our mentor Matt who gave us a lot of inspiration. Afterwards we had a team meeting where we discussed the poster concept and worked out the planning process for the week of action, as well as the amount of time needed for each activity, spending, etc. We also assigned different roles to each member of our team and we will work together efficiently in the upcoming work.

DAY 1 REFLECTION

On the first day we travelled to Hyde in two groups; one by train and one by bus. Together we explored the key nodes and main routes from the bus and train stations to the city centre, which will form the basis of our main route design.

DAY 1 CONT.

On returning to Manchester, and after a well deserved lunch break, the group broke into 4 and undertook a SWOT analysis, discussing their experiences and observations from site.

DAY 2

We conducted a site analysis based on the site research on the first day, where we analysed the site's history, demographic, traffic and other information, from which we all found our points of interest as the start of the following design.

DAY 3 CONCEPTUAL DESIGN

All of us were divided into four groups to focus on the conceptual design of path, poster, signage and installation. The groups were rotated every 45 minutes so that everyone could participate in each area of interest. We used hand-drawings and case studies to give everyone a chance to develop and present their ideas.

DAY 3 CONCEPTUAL DESIGN WORKS

After a day of discussion and investigation, we presented our ideas for path, poster, signage and installation through hand drawing and collage. We are ready to present the results to the client tomorrow！

DAY 4 PRESENTATION

We presented everyone's concepts to the client and discussed with them to get a lot of helpful feedback. According to their comments, we will adjust and finalise our final design concepts and proposals.

DAY 5 DEVELOP THE CONCEPTS AND PROPOSALS

We split into two groups and continued to focus on the Installation+poster and Signage+paths designs separately. We adjusted the initial concepts and proposals based on client feedback, and further developed the design narrative through collages, sketches, and drawings.

DAY 6+7 DESIGN FOR FINAL OUTPUTS

Members of the two groups worked on the final outputs of Installation+poster and Signage+paths, expressing them through illustrations, renderings, etc., in preparation for the final presentation to the client tomorrow.
