Hi I’m Grace! I’m from London and did my undergrad at The University of Nottingham.
I’m currently in the PRAXXIS atelier and am a huge advocate for sustainable architecture particularly embodied carbon. I’m really excited to be looking into sustainable transport systems as part of getting people to visit Stalybridge!

A great start to day 1 of MSA LIVE for group 10! We started the day with a briefing on the town of Stalybridge and our project brief. Then we had an ice-breaker task where we had five minutes to draw the person sitting opposite. This was a very funny task which discovered some true artists amongst us!
We then split into two groups, 'culture' and 'infrastructure' and all got started on some site analysis, drafting our 'all about Stalybridge' leaflet and planning our site visit tomorrow.
In the photo above, you can see the infrastructure team hard at work, finding out all the different ways you can get to Stalybridge on public transport.

What a brilliant start to week 2 by group 10! Feeling fresh, we were ready to build on our ideas from last week and combine them to reach the best final design for our clients. We can really see the value of having a wide range of degree courses and year groups. Every person brings something different and unique to the table and it’s so refreshing to be a part of. Today we finished the day with a solid, final site masterplan and we are ready to delve into more of the finer details tomorrow!

Today was our final prep day before presenting our ideas to Tameside Metropolitan Council tomorrow morning, so it was a busy one with lots of collaboration ensuring all our drawings were consistent. Here is a sneak peek of our design, shown through a section cutting through the site showing our landscape proposals with the new tram stop in the background.
