MA AR - Qiwei Wu

Hi everyone, I’m Qiwei Wu, currently studying for MA Architecture and Adaptive Reuse. I come from a county which is the largest building stone distribution centre in China. Growing up surrounded by architectural materials laid a natural foundation for me to choose design as my path.

My undergraduate study focused on interior architecture, through which I developed a keen awareness of public space and the unique character of place. Before starting this master’s programme, I also gained hands-on experience from corporate internships, covering interior design, architectural renovation, and spatial curation. This journey has helped me clarify my passion for spatial renewal and adaptive transformation, especially how design can respond to local context instead of creating generic, homogeneous spaces.

I am particularly drawn to projects that revive underused sites and create meaningful public spaces for people to gather and connect. I’m excited to collaborate with the team, explore new challenges in adaptive reuse and public space design, and bring together my background in Environmental Art Design to contribute to our work.
