Course: MArch 1
Atelier: Infrastructure Space

Hi, I’m Sofia, a first year MArch student at the MSA, and originally from Limassol, Cyprus. On my year out I practised primarily on residential projects. During this time I developed strong skills in Revit and 3D digital modelling.

I completed my undergraduate degree at Newcastle University, where I explored reuse- retrofit projects, and physical model making. Through these projects I developed a practical approach to formulating design concepts and understanding how architecture can respond to existing contexts.

Within the Infrastructure Space atelier, we focus on data driven mapping and analytical methods to improve community and user experience. I am particularly looking forward to collaborating with Hyde Young People’s Enterprise, contributing to their aim of improving access to sports environments for young people in the community. I am interested in understanding how design can encourage participation, support wellbeing, and make shared spaces feel welcoming and easy to use for everyday activities.
