Session 1 – Meet the team & the Collaborators
Hello! We are Group 10. We are collaborating with Hyde Young People’s Enterprise (HYPE) where we are working to create a youth sports complex for the Hyde Community. We are looking forward to getting stuck into this project and exploring our creative ideas to bring a positive change to the community.
In our first session today, we began with an icebreaker! We got to know one another and learnt about our background, architectural interests, hobbies and skills that can contribute to this project. We quickly discovered that putting our skills together will allow us to perform to high standards and create a collaborative working environment for the duration of this project.

Atelier: Praxis
Hey I’m Holly. I started my masters at Manchester School of Architecture this year. I have one year of experience working in a small residential practice in Hertfordshire, working on a range of projects from loft conversions to house extensions to new build homes. During this year, I learnt the importance of communication with clients and how to make architecture personal.
From being a part of the Praxis atelier, where we focus on designing through an intersectional feminist lens, I’ve developed my thinking to create safe and inclusive spaces, focusing particularly on the community.
I have always been interested in working with the community, on projects that benefit those who live there. I am excited to collaborate with Hyde Young Peoples Enterprise on this project, increasing accessibility and availability of youth facilities to the community. Everyone in the community should have access to sports and exercise facilities, and I am excited to improve these for the community in Hyde.
