PATH stands for Project Apprenticeship at Town Hall.
We are aiming to introduce the refurbishment of the town hall project to potential apprentices that are attracting people from all backgrounds and ages. The continuing problem is how to draw the attention of new apprentices although there is profound culture and historical background attached to the town hall. So, the project is considered using the significance of heritage to capture the interest of people who are living in Manchester.
The inclusive way of delivering the town hall legacy is a key component to embody the diversity of culture and it is creating social equality that is providing an opportunity to employ people from all corners of Manchester.
PATH team is collaborating with the City council of Manchester and a list of sub-contractors are involved along with the project. We are delivering the project together with the support from the undergraduate student who would produce different outputs in the different form of communications, such as social media, flyers, posters, etc.
Site visits would be carried out to explore the context of the project.

Path team had first site visit to the town hall project. It was an informative day that we meet the project member and acquire the site context of apprenticeship in the town hall project. After the visit, we have a deeper understanding in the history of old town hall and its identity to Manchester. It helps to better shape the approach for attracting potential apprentices to the town hall which will be break down into certain process of planning and the session plan of intensive week.

PATH's team attends the bookbinding workshop to study how the variety of printing techniques enhances the graphical identity and the process of making the poster. In addition, the Town Hall representative gives us site-specific feedback during the presentation of apprenticeship posters. It helps to pin down the direction of poster design while learning what we need to improve in next week.
