PARTNERS
The Proud Trust
- The Proud Trust is a haven for young people and the LGBT community. The trust aids young people in empowering themselves to make a significant impact in their communities, creating a supportive environment to connect and feel at home. They achieve this through connecting national and regional LGBT+ youth work networks, managing the LGBT+ Centre for Manchester, delivering training, organising events and campaigns, conducting research, and generating resources.

Arup
Ammar joined Arup in 2017 and worked in the London office for five years. Ammar is very interested in queer heritage, visibility in space, moving beyond the village and looking at emerging areas outside the town. He has worked on queer in public space and wants to explore his interests, further sparking how we can make the spaces safer and known as Manchester has a lot of history and enthusiasm.

MSA
Emily Crompton is a senior lecturer at the MSA, where she leads the Year 1 undergraduate programme and collaborates with the MArch atelier PRAXIS. Emily has a great relationship with The Proud Trust due to her many years of partnership with them. She has spent the last five years investigating the history and design of the Manchester LGBT+ Centre. Emily has been recording and studying the destruction and reconstruction of the LBGT+ Centre as an expert advisor on The Proud Trusts Buildings Re-Building Board. Emily enjoys looking at the city in surprising and unconventional ways, and she is constantly curious about the other side of the tale.
