Hi I'm Ian born and raised in Malaysia and completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Melbourne. Worked in practice on the adaptive reuse of a 60 year old office building for 2 years, converting it into a new art and culinary commercial hub smack in the city centre of Kuala Lumpur. I've always had an interest in re-imagining conventional systems and processes, trying to adapt a more DIY-esque and human approach to design in general. Naturally, this lead me to choose the Non-Standard Habitats Atelier to further my Masters in, as its brief was to re-imagine industrial habitats and explore new and innovative ways to adapt new programs or architypologies fueled by the booming industry of Lithium and the rising demand for Lithium-ion batteries.
